At the age of 12 I attended Vacation Bible School at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Magnolia, TX. It was there for the first time ever that I heard about sin, the consequences of sin and that I was a sinner. The preacher of this little country church preached the Word of God to a congregation of about 40 kids on a Wednesday night. That night, in the summer of 1988 the Holy Spirit of God convicted me of my sin and drew me to Himself. It was then that I gave my life to Christ and was born-again, and became a citizen of the kingdom of God!
Six years later at the age of 18 I had the wonderful privilege of visiting Israel on a tourism trip. It was truly amazing to be able to walk where Jesus walked. Of course, at the time I didn’t realize what the Lord was doing in my life, at least until I walked inside the Garden Tomb. As I looked inside the empty tomb I began to meditate on the great sacrifice that Jesus made on my behalf; the Lord spoke softly to my heart and called me to me to, ‘Go and tell what you have seen. The tomb is empty and the throne is occupied!’ The Lord called me to preach His glorious gospel! In 1995 the greatest thing that ever happened to me (aside from my salvation experience with the Lord Jesus Christ) took place: I married my High School sweet heart, Delanie. The Lord has been gracious to us and blessed us with five wonderful children: Jacob, who is with the Lord now, Ethan, Jamie, Abby and Joel. I praise the Lord because every one of our children has publicly confessed knowing Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord!
Since the Lord called me to ministry He has blessed and given me opportunities to preach His message all over the world! I believe in missions and that the New Testament church is to be a mission-minded body. Acts 1: 8 is the Biblical model for missions, concerning the local church. It is my conviction that the church is to be actively engaged in reaching the lost with gospel locally (Jerusalem), regionally (Judea and Samaria) and globally (the ends of the earth)! And this is to be done simultaneously. The local church is the light house for the gospel in the community where it has been planted; and as a body, she is to send and give to send missionaries to the regions beyond the local community to bear the light of Jesus Christ. My heart is to preach the Word of God! I am a conservative Bible-believing preacher who firmly believes and makes no apology that the Holy Bible is the inerrant, infallible, inspired, sufficient and authoritative Word of God! My desire and purpose is simple: to be faithful to the Lord by boldly and un-apologetically preaching His Word, serving His Body and His Kingdom as pastor of the local church.
I would like to personally invite you to attend our services here at NBFBC where we strive to be doctrinally straight and spiritually free. Now, may the Lord bless you and keep you; may He cause His face to shine upon you! May you be blessed of the Lord and I hope to see you soon!
In Christ,
Pastor Jeremy
